Sanjay Dutt was granted a 30-day parole on December 6 since his wife Manyata Dutt is unwell. Manyata is reportedly suffering from heart ailment, and also hastumor growth in her liver. Following this, Prabhakar Deshmukh granted parole to Dutt on December 6 after the Mumbai police and state prisons department recommended Sanjay’s release. The release was then communicated to the jail the next day. Despite all of this, the actor is still in the prison for the fourth day today as he has to still comply with the parole conditions and also furnish a surety along with it.
When Dutt was released on furlough in October 2013, his sister stood surety for him, but this time till now, it is quite unclear about who the surety will be. Apart from this, the parole formality also includes identification and solvency or cash details for the amount specified. As per the officials at Yerawada central jail, Dutt’s release was held up as he had not complied with the parole order. The official said “Dutt or his family had not arranged for surety and had not intimated him when they were likely to fulfill the conditions.”
