The film starring Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor is YRF’s first one to be released in Bengali
Gunday is releasing in Bengali along with its Hindi release on Valentine’s Day on February 14, 2014. Yash Raj Films(YRF) released the teaser of Gunday a few days ago and it created a lot of buzz. Shot extensively in Kolkata and Bengal, the film’s backdrop essentially lends itself to releasing the film in Bengali.
The makers are now planning to release the teaser poster and trailer in Bengali this week. The movie has a strong Bengali connect as Bappi da has composed music for the movie and interestingly this is the first time ever that YRF and Bappi da are working together.
Starring Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor, Irrfan Khan and Priyanka Chopra, Gunday is one of the biggest releases of 2014. The film is set during Calcutta’s most turbulent times of the ‘70s and this is the soul of the film with the characters seeped in the culture of that time. Consequently, the plans for releasing the film also in Bengali was finalised at the pre-production stage.
