Shahid Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha starrer R… Rajkumar was released this week, but looks like it has fell flat the box-office. Why do we say so, you ask? Released in 2,200 screens in the domestic market, R… Rajkumar debuted with a not so good response with its occupancy ranging between an average of 50% to 60% in a few circuits like Gujarat, Maharashtra and Rajasthan. But the movie had a lukewarm response in northern circuits like Delhi and Punjab, where it had an average of 35% occupancy. The typical Bollywood masala entertainer has collected approximately Rs 9 crores nett at the Indian Box Office on the first day.
A superb combination of Shahid, Sonakshi and Prabhu Dheva has failed to draw the audiences to the theatres. Though the movie has done decent collection at the Box Office on its opening day, it is not up to the expected mark, opine trade experts.
Looking at the first day collections of R… Rajkumar, it seems that the masses are not anymore interested in typical Bollywood masala maar-dhaad films.
